Who? Any and all short races level 10 and under.
Where? Freeport Arena
When? Friday (Jan. 4) at 6pm EST

To ring in the new year I figured it's time to reroll which means ridding myself of what is near and dear to me, phat lewtz. With that in mind, and with the noticeable increase of new players, what better way to do that than to have little people fight over it? So if you have a low level dwarf rogue that's been collecting dust on your account, or maybe you just started and you went with a gnome caster, than come and join the carnage.

How it will work...
At the beginning of each free-for-all match I will announce a group of items/amount of plat that will be up for grabs. If you would like to compete for what was announced file down to the arena hall below and await the countdown. Once the gate opens combatants will have to fend for themselves, last wee man or woman standing wins the prize. It's that simple. You can team up against each other by race or just duke it out. However, once you've won you will have to sit out and wait until the very end when all pecks, dwarves and gnomes will have a chance at the grand prize.

Rules...
No cheating. No outside buffs. No twinkage. No fleeing the arena during a match. Any participant who manages to escape the arena during a match will be disqualified from that round. If there are any ogres or trolls who would like to be the honorary "door man" blocking the way, feel free to show up with your big ol' voluptuous selves.

Why only short folk? That's racist...
A certain scene from In Bruges is responsible for this. But I can't create an all-out war between pygmy folk on my own, it takes all of you. So bring your furry feet, your smells of cabbage and what little dps you have and I'll bring the winnings and Fraps for posterity.

Prizes will include...
10k+ in plat, Bag of the Tinkerers (http://wiki.project1999.org/Bag_of_the_Tinkerers) x2, Crown of the Froglok Kings (http://wiki.project1999.org/Crown_of_the_Froglok_Kings), Targishin's Bone Mask (http://wiki.project1999.org/Targishin%27s_Bone_Mask), Cloak of Shadows (http://wiki.project1999.org/Cloak_of_Shadows), Shrunken Goblin Skull Earring (http://wiki.project1999.org/Shrunken_Goblin_Skull_Earring), Totem of the Warrior Spirit (http://wiki.project1999.org/Totem_of_the_Warrior_Spirit), Bracer of the Hidden (http://wiki.project1999.org/Bracer_of_the_Hidden), Adamantite Club (http://wiki.project1999.org/Adamantite_Club), Peacebringer (http://wiki.project1999.org/Peacebringer), Bracer of Scavenging (http://wiki.project1999.org/Bracer_of_Scavenging), and more.

Grand prize...
At the very end of the battles I will lower my health considerably, step into the arena and sit down. Whoever can land the last blow, killing me, will win my account.
*Players may be buffed at this point if they wish, but not twinked.

What you'll win...
A stripped down level 52 monk with terrible Freeport Militia faction, Jboots, Peggy cloak, Robe of the Lost Circle, (2) Earrings of Station, Crescent Armor, Plane of Sky/Fear Gear, Keys to Seb and Charasis. The account also includes a key-holder to The Hole and another character with Jboots. That's it pretty much.

Note: This player-run event is intended for newcomers and/or those who do not have much free time to play but would still like to see higher end zones. Understandably there will be opportunists among those attending but so be it. If anyone's that desperate to have a pocket raid-level monk for free than I suggest they take a brief moment to rethink their life. That said, once the account info is exchanged, do with it what you like, I wash my hands. If you have any questions or if your toon needs a bind in Freeport message me in game (Inewen) and I'll run my cleric over real quick. Good luck all.

I'm totally on board with the no twinking rule, woo! Are contestants still allowed to obtain gear normally as they level up, though? i.e. Snag a Dragoon Dirk from Crushbone or some such.

Just a tip, many evil characters will be KOS to the warrior guild NPCs around the arena and may aggro them from inside the arena itself. I'm not sure if this matters since short folks aren't usually evil, but gnome necromancers might be KOS. I remember this causing trouble with another event in the Freeport arena.

Perfectly fine. So long as it's within reason, having your character geared will be fine (ex. a chanter with a stein of moggok, a cleric with a tainted battleworn morning star from kith, etc.)

speaking of which, if you'd like i'd be happy to help inspect participants and make sure they aren't uber geared.

But we'll have to keep our eyes open for people switching gear before/during the fight after they've been inspected. Probably good to have some "referees" to help with that.

To be sure that people dont have high level buffs somebody should cast a few nullify magics on all participants before battle. Then maybe leave time to self buff.

I don't want the loot, I just want to participate.

I missed that Royal Rumble event and this will be a taste of that.

just have naked level 1's turn in Dischord books

that way will prevent buffing and you can hold the fight in a more interesting place than arena

do it in the Bard guild house in NFP and have two Ogres blocking the door

For as much as you people are against and hate EQ PvP (has no place in the game etc)... you sure look forward to it.

If the character has items in worth that are like 50pp is that ok?

Not a problem, anything around that price isn't going to guarantee any one player a win imo. Plus, if you have too much good gear on you're going to attract attention and the other players are probably going to team up against you first. Still, I have visions of some guy waltzing in with a bone razor and fungi tunic, please no one be this guy.

Hadn't thought about this, interesting. Hmm...well if too few level tens show up than this may be a good Plan B, otherwise I'll save it for another day.

Wanted to thank Inewen for such a fun and awesome event. Even though it took us a bit to get settled turned out to be alot of fun. Had to AFK at the end so didn't get a chance to roll on the account, but won some great stuff early on.

Would like to second this- although I JUST got robbed in 4 of the events. Tons of fun- so close!
