Love TES to death, I just wish they hadn't gone so cartoonish with the graphics. I would love to see the detail and beauty you get in the offline games at least somewhat recreated in the mmo. just my opinion though

You've got to draw the WoW kids (turned adults) somehow ;)
My question with all new MMOs is basically - "will my computer run it?", and most if not all of the time... it won't :D

okay i'm sorry swish but that's retarded
no mmo can handle single player game equivalent graphics, and anyone who thinks so is stupid.

This. I am at least grateful that this won't be impacting Bethesda's ability to develop their single player series. Modding the single player series is half of my fun in TES. They provide a very solid structure and allow people to add basically anything they like onto that, which you can't really do in MMOs other than addons and UIs which don't really add any actual content.

I'm looking forward to it. I think they can do a good job. I only wish it was first person view and that I could be an imperial. Why don't MMORPGs use first person view??

Dudes can't make a game worth playing without a huge modding community, but they are gonna pop out a good mmo?
Uh huh.

ive never played any of TES modded and Daggerfall, Morrowind, and Skyrim are some of my all time favorite games. I hope Bethesda has a huge hand in this online version of the game.

"The Nords, Dunmer and Argonians have forged THE EBONHEART PACT out of necessity"
Why is this even a TES game? That's like making a WW2 FPS about Poland and Germany teaming up to conquer Japan.
I predict free to play ~12 months after launch

im more concerned with the world and how solo pvp and questing works out, the whole thing that made morrowind great was clear shit, go somewhere else, and keep leveling not grind or gay ass quests. better be some sweet city quests and guild initiation quests.

from what i saw the combat looked like a clunky mix of tera and GW2, havent seen anything about pvp

actually it was a complete shit game, the game itself was fucking awful in every respect, oh theres an oblivion hole to generic hell_05.
oh theres a fucking ugly npc with terrible voice acting and a fake mouth over its face. i seriously quit over the npcs more than anything.
combat system was ok i guess, typical morrowind/daggerfall style, no complaints there.
Skyrim is put together very well, only thing i hate is the console port feel, and how you can become so god damn ridiculously powerful without a lot of effort.

you need to calm down
yeah, it had a LOT of flaws, but it's still a pretty good game. it segued the tes series nicely from morrowind and improved the combat system a lot. i quite enjoyed playing it when it came out and the thief guild quest line was fun as shit
with that said yea, the repetitive character voices become annoying pretty quickly. and yea the main quest was meh but that was just a small part of the game there was so much more i could do. was it the best game ever? hell no, but complete shit? calm down pal

I'm glad they didn't call it Daggerfall.
I have Daggerfall and can play it anytime I want. Good game. Think it's better than Morrowind in some aspects; like the size of the map and the non-linear feel of things; climbing, playerships, playerhouses, random dungeons and random quests, go and do your own thing and make your own story, etc. But Morrowind has a lot of things to do too and much better gfx. Just not my type because everything feels too handmade/restricted.
I doubt Elder Scrolls Online will be any good. Most of the big mmorpgs are kiddieland. I've mostly lost faith in big scale mmorpgs. Indie mmorpgs are my only savior. I still love to play single player and old games.
Most players want their mmorpg on rails and like a shoot-em-up. Too bad. But it's the truth. Whether it's because they don't have enough time or it's because they're just not interested enough, who cares. Thing that matters to me is jumping off the themepark ride asap out into merciless danger and doing my own thing. Unfortunately, that means the vast majority of big games don't interest me whatsoever. They may have some more dangerous rides but they're still rides and it's still a themepark and I'm stil bored as sh**.

this will be a terrible rape of what was otherwise an awesome franchise. the amount of pandering to the casual gamer it will take to make it a successful title will all but destroy everything that is great about TES. i will not support this game or any who play it. keep TES single player imo

The ability to mod TES games added INCREDIBLE longevity to them.
Without modding they're severely restricted. You can't do sh**. You're forever stuck with whatever brand of game the developers could get through the marketing and executive departments.
Sad thing is, they'll probably make some money with the online game. And as many fear, they'll start to wonder why they were doing single player when online play was available over 10 years ago.
Once they get a whiff of online gaming, they'll be like a slut who's just done it for the first time. Oh well, you know nothing lasts forever. We can look at the TES games as the glory days. Happens all the time.
If things don't work out for TES, somebody else will step up. Always happens. That's the thing that keeps humanity going. Otherwise, we'd be f***** and probably raping each other and living in a rainforest.

i spent ALOT of hours on morrowind and it had huge replay value. I dont see how you guys felt that you had to have mods, that was a great game.

of course if you have aspergers and must play video games 16 hours a day and had nothing to live for after beating morrowind i could see where the mods would fill that void.

There was some pretty great stuff in oblivion though. The thieves guild and assassins guild quest lines were some of my all time favorites. Some fail stuff too of course.
