Halfling vs. Dwarf warrior

I know dwarf has better starting stats, but I'm curious how useful hide and sneak are for a halfling warrior? Skill of only 50, so is it worth much?

skill of 50, just means it takes a few tries sometimes to get a successful sneak or hide off.

Both races get to wear the dwarven armor which is also awesome.

To know if hide has worked, you need to con something that doesn't see through hide to see if it has changed from not indifferent to indifferent. You'll always appear to have gone invis on your screen, even though you might not actually have.

You can tell if sneak is working because you'll be moving slowly, and everything (EVERYTHING) will con indifferent to you if you are behind it.

You don't need the +wis that the Brell Serillis version grants you, the regular version of the dwarf armor is awesome as is. People usually go agnostic.

What Tecmos and Nips said regarding checking hide/sneak. Note that you can't activate both and use it like a rogue to move around while hidden/sneaking. However, you can apply both and use them in conjunction while standing still to give yourself periodic invis (when it works) then you can move some more with sneak and then apply hide again.

gota abuddy who has a halfling warrior, he absolutely loves it. Plus its awesome grouping with him :D

go halfling and never look back. Probably put all your pts into stamina tho, maybe 5 into str.

I've seen him and you're right.

If you really want the tier of dwarf cultural armor that has wisdom, then you should worship Brell Serilis.

If you don't care, worship anyone. The next tier down of cultural dwarf armor only loses wisdom, all other stats are the same:

Halfling, easily. Dwarves only have a small stat advantage and barrel roll...Halflings have exp bonus, sneak and hide.

If you would be happier playing a dwarf for cosmetic reasons, more power to you.
