I haven't played on p1999 for almost a year. And yet last night I had a dream where I was playing something like EQ. I was in a room with some other people and suddenly a named walks in. The name was something like Thrompick or something. It was a big hairy thing that was pounding on us. So we ran. On our way out, a gnome wizard in a blue robe, unaware of our train, runs passed us and I helplessly wonder. As I'm nearing the exit I wait a moment to pull the train to me so they don't aggro on the wizard when I zone out too soon just in case that's possible. Just then the wizard is running towards me with a couple of baddies hitting on him. Since I'm badly hurt I zone out. I don't know what happened to the wizard because I thereupon woke up from my dream.

It's odd what went through my mind afterwards. Basically, I was thinking about trains and the methods we used to survive them in classic EQ. It's funny how something so unkind can be remembered so well. But isn't it that most things in life that're hard won are remembered that way. It's not like we want to live World War II all over again, but the danger and the heroism and the responsibility of it all is not forgotten.

It's easy to forget things that don't push you to your limits and require responsible action. Furthermore, in an open environment - like in classic eq - your choices impact other players in many ways.

I didn't catch the name of the gnome wizard. I hope he made it out alive.

I had this weird dream in which LFaydark was filled with all level 60 mobs, and I kept getting slaughtered by trains of mobs. It was like I was playing in the first person mode and actually there. Dreams take us to weird places.

Yesterday in CoM we had a train of 6 (bad pull). We all managed to stay alive, exhausted, depleted of mana, all low health. I love EQ for things like that.
