Summoned bags are a dangerous liability, an accident waiting to happen.

NEVER USE THEM, NEVER!!! EVER!!!

The odds are strongly in favor of you losing multiple valuable items over the course of your EQ career. If you have no valuable items, someone will probably run by fairly soon and give you some, by which time you will have forgotten about the bags.

NEVER, EVER, UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES, USE SUMMONED BAGS.

Not for extra looting, not for key corpses. If someone asks you to summon some for them, do them a favor and charge them 1000pp TO SAY NO because that will be kinder than what they will eventually lose. Designate a bagger if you have to. Friends don't let friends summon bags.

Sometimes the server goes down for more than 30 minutes. Sometimes you forget.

Yes, which did save me from losing a couple 4-slotters of fine steel when I was starting out and it represented a small fortune. On at least a few other occasions, I forgot until the next time I logged in and /facepalmed.

Do not come into my Public Service Announcement and throw around horrible untruths. You WILL eventually lose items worth FAR more than the lifetime value of the extra loot you can achieve. Getting this information out was literally the entire point of the thread.

I lost a Fire Emerald and a worthless druid spell in a summoned bag during a DDoS attack in 2012.

I made hundreds of platinum more by being able to weightlessly carry around Fine Steel as a Necromancer. Summoned bags ++, would recommend.

I agree with the OP. As I was looting my corpse, jboots ended up in my summoned bag. Things did not end well. I was a very, very, very, very angry mage.
