I am sure he was difficult to beat. I am sure there was also some amount of pvp and as such the event was a great idea.

4 AoNs though, its a rare drop from a god that takes a couple of hours to clear to and spawns once a week. At the very least it would take a full month and 10-15 hours total raiding to get them, thats in the highly unlikely event that an AoN drops every time, and you have a raidforce that can clear the plane in a couple of hours...

Now hold that together with what effort it took to kill it yesterday.

Yet in that period we didnt get nearly the amount of AoNs which was handed out recently... that was cool btw, the item was never meant to be common.

Just saying if Sirken is gonna continue to hand these out at least consider lowering the number, mix it up with some guises or something that isnt as OP, but still a nice toy, especially for any iksars or those who didnt play at launch.

the best part about these events is how riled up it gets the genuine losers that have literally made this server their life

Giving out end game items takes the risk v reward out of EverQuest and the legitimacy of the box. It doesn't matter if it's people within the guild that got them or not. What made it a bit more "upsetting" to some was that they were given out not even for on the battlefield achievements but for simply winning a /random. It makes this box no different than a custom box. Not mad, not sad, not bad, don't really care, just stating truths.

i actually didnt "turn into" a shark. i was playing with some commands that allow me to spawn custom mobs of the fly for impromptu events that dont require any work from nilbog or rogean.

that shark had IC, Root, and eBolt ;)

on vztz i added a Jawws mob to the database for OOT zone, and he swam in the water between sister, oracle, garg/spec, AC, SF islands - so i thought it could be a fun lil thing with a lil back story for the EQEmu PvP crowd that has been around for a few years. but if u were there, i hope u at least had fun!
