Hey there, haven't played EQ since 2006 and saw your server and thought about coming back. Not really sure what to make though. Population seems a little low and makes me think I need to roll a solo class to be able to ever catch up to you guys. I was thinking SK at first but I'm guessing thats not a realistic choice. Necro, druid, shaman would probably be my best bet? Any help would be appreciated. Also, I couldn't find to much info but this is pretty much as classic as it gets right? No double exp or things like that?

necros OK nothing better then ok , druids shitty heals shitty nukes , shamans fun but you wont get bane of knife or any of your good spells for a long while

This is as classic as it gets, but there is a double exp bonus starting at level 1 that scales to a 0 exp bonus at 50. Makes the first 25 levels noticeably faster, without trivializing the entire leveling process. There was also a +50% bonus added overall after kunark but I do not know if that still exists. I'd guess it doesn't considering a level 59 player with an exp penalty takes about 30 minutes to an hour to get 1%.

I went with a necro because I think they're the least gear reliant. Names chunder and I'm a gnome in steamfont. If anyone wants to play with me hit me up. I'll be around often hopefully.

you are correct, it's impossible to enjoy a melee on this server unless you dine on pizzarolls and hotpockets 24/7 and have a posse to group/raid with. On most other pvp servers where you can two box you can actually level up a melee without PL.

If you have slightly more fortitude than a fire beetle you can make it as a melee. Just don't expect the WoW journey where you get max level in 2 weeks. Roll a caster type to farm gear and level alongside your melee when you cant find a group for him. rexx has a crew of people helping him level on his warrior. i wouldnt really compare that to a brand new player that doesn't know anyone.

Disciple Brennard was there as well, dropping buffs with me.

Very happy to see population doing so well and as always, please hit up Saint Saidin in game for buffs or druid help. If I'm not busy i'm always happy to help the noobs of the server.

How high level did you make it? I'm at 5 right now, starting to play eqemu again and deciding to play my necro. Got the femur quest done and stuff. Not a lot of people near Paineel though unfortunately :(

that femur quest is pretty cool. i really think all the necro quests are neat. respect to all the necros that actually do their own Harvestor quest.
