This is for you FE, the positions and strategies are slightly different however there are lots of valuable tips for you in the following material.
Let's start with a clear cut case of: knowing when to pull the trigger
<object width="420" height="315"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/FzjJiQ39z24?version=3&hl=en_US&rel=0"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/FzjJiQ39z24?version=3&hl=en_US&rel=0" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="420" height="315" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true"></embed></object>
Note what Daltheb did here. Now as some of you may well know, Daltheb is a man. A man doesn't sit around and let TMO snag FTE on his raid mobs because his raid leader, in this case Perun, is dragging ass. A man gets in there and snags FTE. I know a lot of times that now DA tanking to buy your guild that extra setup time is a valuable strategy.. which brings me to point #2 and a solid counter to that: He who javs, loots
<object width="420" height="315"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/nzXIQsFfWwI?hl=en_US&version=3&rel=0"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/nzXIQsFfWwI?hl=en_US&version=3&rel=0" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="420" height="315" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true"></embed></object>
As this video clearly demonstrates, TMO will attempt to steal FTE in any way possible. In this example they had rogues in the lair waiting, as well as Slippery getting ready to try to steal. A well placed forged javelin and a well disciplined raid force however saved the day. This earned Daltheb the nickname "fastest jav in the west".
Another important thing, given the intensity and speed with which these engages happen are: clear and precise orders
<object width="420" height="315"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/QWX2adECIk8?hl=en_US&version=3&rel=0"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/QWX2adECIk8?hl=en_US&version=3&rel=0" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="420" height="315" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true"></embed></object>
This video clearly demonstrates how when too many people begin barking orders things can go awry. You need 2-3 clear signal callers, and no other chatter in Vent. Note that there are only maybe 5 different people that speak throughout this engage.
Common sense will carry you far. Don't be stupid:
<object width="420" height="315"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/u2oqXIg63O8?version=3&hl=en_US&rel=0"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/u2oqXIg63O8?version=3&hl=en_US&rel=0" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="420" height="315" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true"></embed></object>
This was a near wipe because people were getting low hp agro, early shroom on tank, and a jugg train at the raid. This will cause you wipe. Healers keep people out of low HP agro range, and have someone ready to take possible trains away from your raid. , You want clean, quick, and effecient kills:
<object width="420" height="315"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/5dmDDcxsoGk?version=3&hl=en_US&rel=0"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/5dmDDcxsoGk?version=3&hl=en_US&rel=0" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="420" height="315" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true"></embed></object>
Note how fast Trakanon dies. You ideally want to kill this guy within at least the first 30 seconds your entire guild is on it. Anything lower is ideal, and there are times when youre going to be able to stretch it to ~1min or so, but his AE and shrooming can get nasty. The quicker, the better.
Celebrate your victories:
<object width="420" height="315"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/plCD4r4K-ok?hl=en_US&version=3&rel=0"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/plCD4r4K-ok?hl=en_US&version=3&rel=0" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="420" height="315" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true"></embed></object>
Victory is good. There is nothing better than killing a dragon while your opponent is forced to watch. There is no shame in celebrating, so when it happens make sure you run to RnF and talk shit, cheer in Vent, and taunt via tells/ooc. Let them know that you have bested them.
This last one I hesitate to post publically.. because it's very difficult, but when executed perfectly you are a God. When executed poorly, you are a dumbass and will most likely die. Unless you're a monk.
<object width="420" height="315"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/mLv1bpYIQY4?hl=en_US&version=3&rel=0"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/mLv1bpYIQY4?hl=en_US&version=3&rel=0" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="420" height="315" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true"></embed></object>
Pulling agro RIGHT before shroom so that your tank does not get shroomed is a pro move, virtually guaranteeing a victory.
Learning from past mistakes, and executing properly, I believe that you, FE can begin to kill the mighty Trakanon on a semi-regular basis.
Best of luck.
