Advice needed in creating a Paladin

Hey all,
I'm entirely new to EverQuest and friend told me about Project 1999. So I've fully installed and what not, but now I just can't decide on what race to play as for a Paladin.

As far as I can tell, Paladins should focus on Sta and Int, so I'm trying to find a good balance.

Can someone give me some recommendations? (And some tips for playing further down the road would be nice too)

Sta and Wis, not int. Dwarf is a very good choice overall. Don't pick Erudite or people will make fun of you, not kidding.

I like my High Elf but man, str is lacking when you're clanking around in bronze armor! I put most of my points in Sta with the rest in wis, since it's easier to get str and wis items than sta items...

Female dwarves do not do barrel rolls. I forgot about this when I created my pally alt and am very sad.... Brunhilda is lame without it.

NO REALLY if your smart you'll go HEF PAL, cause Kunark is coming and HEF PALs get the best sword in the game... Most of the Bandwagon people dont know this. If i wasnt HEF id prob go ERU cause for ERU's get the best stuff across the board. And i Kunark again ,,, OP. Who cares if people make fun of ya?

if you want to be a smartass about it, the "barrel roll" which you refer to is actually an "aileron roll."

Disclaimer: Depends on if P99 goes with revamped Chardok loot pre-Velious. Haven't seen a statement on this yet.

Thanks for all the input, guys. I'm going to go with a Dwarf Paladin then. It's also good someone told me it was Wis, not Int. That would've made for a really terrible pally.
