A question about EXP

I'm not sure if I remember this from classic or perhaps a different game entirely, but I vaguely recall them lowering the amount of exp required to reach level cap. Did this happen or am I confused :D ? Did they play around with the exp scale at all ?

There was a re-allocation of hell level XP into the other levels in order to smooth out the XP curve.

Mind you this makes the non-hell levels slightly longer so it's kind of a double edged sword. Learn to love hell levels! It just means that the other levels were a tad easier than they should be.
