Same. Taken more boat rides that I have ports so far in my 30 levels.

I typically always start these conversations out by laying out exactly how much I’ll pay them. Especially if I’m randomly messaging someone. It helps to start out with “hey, would you do x for y?”. That way no one feels weird. I usually will throw on some additional pp depending on the experience.

I gotta say, if you’re soliciting a port, you absolutely should be cool with paying more. If someone is sitting around blasting ooo that they’re available to port and tips are appreciated but not necessary, then that’s a little different.

I think people are skipping over this one, maybe because it's first on the list. I think this can't be overstated. It's less efficient to roam Norrath and better to just find some mobs and start grinding. Stop looking for ports and start looking for NPCs.

I just hope one of the takeaways from this thread is that people should stop getting their level 3 ported from one newbie zone to another.

Its 2020. Anything that was going to change has changed.

Farming 20 plat at dervs or some other camp would take you 10 minutes.

Running from the karanas to south ro is going to take longer.

This isn't hard.

Take ports only when you must, and tip.

Consider the following. If you bought 10 ports, you'd be broke, yeah. But whatever you're doing at level 21 should only require one or two ports (which wouldn't be available if some druid/wizard wasn't out looking for plat). As a low-level melee, you should bind in a friendly town with one or more good exp zones nearby. Log in, hoof it and grind, log out, repeat. No ports. Once you outgrow that area, pay for a single port and bind at a new home base. And yeah, maybe you'll pay 10% of your net worth. Once.

There's no need to port every play session. Take ports only when you must, and tip.

Also, I think a lot of people are conceding that 5 gold per level is the current standard on Green/Teal.

Holy fuck there’s some entitled people on this server. OP isn’t being unreasonable at all.

I'd say 5g per level. At lvl 30, 15pp seems reasonable for a port as long as you come to the porter in a convenient way. It's different if it's an emergency or under extraordinary circumstances, though, where you'd pay extra for expedience.

CR? If Seal Team, tell them to bust out 50pp out of their 80k to buy a CR port ;D unless a chanter! The crack trade.

5gp/level seems to be what the green/teal crowd is coalescing around.

I usually "trade magicks" for Spirit of Wolf, because most Shamen like cleric buffs; most Druids are fairly appreciative of my efforts but the higher level ones just see it as amusing. It gets the message across, though.
