How did you get haste on the pet as a druid? Are there casters nearby that will buff the pet before you charm it?

Note: Target Type = Pet. Not Animal.

This spell + shield of blades make Druids an extremely powerful wielder of the puppet strings. Shamans with their haste / Torpor and a cleric with a Donals are also extremely potent puppet strings handlers.

I didn't realize that Druid spell worked for charmed pets. Very nice

Sham has it made with strings bc of malosini and charisma buff too.

Zing! I actually failed on this with Liia once or twice too; it's all about the enrage. I think we could have gotten him with a few more attempts, but shaman with strings is just better than enchanter because of the 6 min slow. I'm kind of surprised you didn't just tank him the whole way TBH.

I think Ixi might be doable with War/Shm/Nec without any strong clickies. It's just the perfect fight for a necro: between healing the warrior, charming slixin, and a 10 minute fight for dots to tick you get to use all of your best abilities!

I think you guys might be able to do all three royals if you got someone else to pull them to the zone for you (Speedi, maybe). They would definitely be tricky fights though between dispell and gate and so on.

The funniest would definitely be a shm/clr kill of ragefire entirely with damage shield potions :D

I wanna duo Ragefire with Daldaen

can someone leave the 2 FGs that spawn in the lair alone - only killing Magi and the roamer + leaving Zordak up ( we would use one of our pearls np )

Then Dald and I will post a video of two druids duoing Ragefire - most likely music choice: "Night at the Roxbury"

k thax

I'm pretty confident charm checks class of caster, not class of spell.

In other words, CHA doesn't affect a druid or shaman's string charm duration.

Malosini on the other hand is a fantastic addition to strings. That being said, when you're stringing level 51 and below mobs, unless its a really MR one, your run of the mill base-stat mob wont break too terribly much and if they do you usually have 9 more charges to go through.

As Eratani said, I really want to duo Ragefire with 2 druids, but I don't have the desire to sock it for 20 hours to do that. Just for the lols of saying two druids killed ragefire.

I am not so confident about charisma not affecting charm, but will admit my evidence is anecdotal. What are you basing your opinion on?

As far as lvl 51 mobs go, I find they break relatively frequently. Frequent enough to be a problem on difficult fights. Indeed, a break by itself can be devastating if you are solo and the break happens on a mob that you cannot tank. Your pet will have to regain agro. Many examples here, but Vessel comes to mind. I believe that I had a break and was forced to either use a CH stick or idol while my pet regained agro.

Ragefire would be interesting. His fear is MR based, and normally you want your charmed pet's MR as low as possible.

Just basing it on my experience with strings.

Yea 51 pets break a fair amount but, it's instant cast. At most you'll get one round from pet/mob and then recharm and sick on mob again. This can be a lot of damage but it is manageable most times.

Druids cannot slow or Malo, so we don't generate a huge amount of aggro on the mob we are fighting, allowing the pet to regain aggro almost immediately after breaks . Epic snare is about the only aggro generating thing I will do other than superior healing myself.

Rooted mobs don't flee. Our strategy would be contingent upon having two rooted fire Giants underneath him. The AE is fire based, and fire Giants are obviously immune to fire, so they won't get dispelled. I'd likely dump a ring/shoulder and tash stick proc into each giant then root them in lair and kill both versions of Ragefire. I'm pretty sure hasted, DWing Fire Giant DPS x2 will drop him in a few minutes. The main challenge will be managing roots/push I think. Should be a fun time though. Just not worth poopsocking Ragefire for 20 hours to experience it...

You nerds and your strings.

P.S. Hi Liia/Svenn/Loraen and welcome aboard Dald.
