It should be remembered that this competition is just for fun. We receive no real benefit to completing even the hardest kills. It is just a competition to push ourselves to see what our max is for solo/duo potential.
With that said, the rule lawyers have already ruined the raid scene, and I don't mean to be rude but I think I speak for everyone when I say you are not welcome to come and rule lawyer for us soloists/duoists at the same time! |

If i log my rogue in, pop puppet strings and soulfire and complete the Grandmaster list - am i really a solo grandmaster? let's get real here |
I don't think a rogue can pull it off actually. It would be a nice accomplishment if one could though.

As for your comment Orruar, I play a SK nowadays, I have about 2900 hps. I could probably solo Neh'Ashir too. 2900 hps x5 (soulfire) + that CH stick from the thex mallet quest = 17 400 hps. Now lets add a bladestopper. 10 x 394 hps = 3940 hps. So I am now a Shadow knight, who started with 2900 hps, but in reality has 21 340 hps (exagerating because I probably wouldnt get the full benifit of all CH). Lets make it 20 000 hps. I'm now a raid target ! Why don't we go farther ? Let me add in a fully charged puppet strings, so that I can more than triple my DPS. Legit solo kills ? To me, no, to you, maybe. You are as entitled to your opinion as I am, no need to get on your high horse because I question the validity of your so called Oracle kills ! |

If you use puppet strings, the competition is no longer about a class or a set of classes beating a particular mob. It's about who can use puppet strings better because they are so much more a factor than anything else.
It's similar to why blood doping is banned for the tour de france and a list of drugs are banned from the olympics - those substances become critical for competing at all if they're allowed and it ruins the spirit of the competition. But if people want to use puppet strings, NBD, they should just disclose that because it changes the nature of their success; but it should also be understood that even doing some of these with puppet strings is a horrendous task. |

You guys can attempt to trivialize this all day, but I don't see for what reason other than to discourage the competition from continuing. Like I said we don't get any benefit from this outside of posting in this very thread except in having fun. I will say that I have had more fun doing this than any raiding. It is easy to throw 60 people at a mob with 32k and win. I might cast one spell during such a fight and it involves no skill on my behalf.
I will still try to push the envelope and see what other mobs can be done! What makes a legitimate kill anyway? As far as I am concerned the word legitimate encompasses just about everything within the game with the exception of exploits. We merely describe how the kill happened, and items of great power are reflected in our explanations. |
I agree with you Messianic. We should and do disclose that our kills included the use of puppet strings.
Secondly it needs to be understood that at this point some of us are attempting mobs that could not possible be done without the use of puppet strings. Still is fun though. |
