Executive orders also "....must fit within a certain sphere of power and cannot simply defy Congressional intent." Not to mention the court can overturn them.

that doesn't sound like a meaningful difference, but i do not watch anime.

Congress passes Obamacare...

Trump can't make an executive order that repeals Obamacare.

He can make adjustments that don't clearly contradict the intent of Congress with Obamacare (get rid of the individual mandate) -- but he can't just order the law repealed.

You don't want it to be a meaningful difference.

You want it to matter.

Because it gives your life meaning.

we're getting into the weeds here, and i'm not saying executive can straight up repeal laws. the legislative has simply abdicated alot of their power to the other branches, so EO functions identically to law.

*googles war powers*

Hell, Congress would cream in their pants if Trump wanted to start a war.

If war is your concern, then you should worry about everyone. Not just Trump.

Jesus Christ guys...if you can't contradict congress and the fucking order is not even permanent its not the same as law.

Congress can do anything that isn't ruled unconstitutional. It's a slow bureaucratic institution where its much easier to shut down a prospective law than pass one. So once Congress passes or repeals a law -- there is a level of permanency to it.

Congress has exclusive power of the purse and presidents can't simply demand taxpayer money without consent of Congress. The problem with this country is not the president. The problem with this country is the bought out Congress and Courts.

Why is the Congress easy to buy out? Because people are too god damn focused on the president as the guy with all the power and don't even know who their representative is, what they do, and where they get their money from. But people will read a novel worth of information about Russiagate or Whitewater.
