it's to annoy people which is most valuable

captnamazing 05-18-2014 10:18 PM

that's like asking "What good is minor illusion"

using it in crowded zones then spamming your Rod of Insidious Glamour at people shouting about how you're a magic bush

what could be better than that?

I used to treeform myself on sister island to kill elona and hugin tunbrin.

the HP regen was awesome.

I guess against outdoor dragons it will stop you from running in fear?

moklianne 05-19-2014 02:11 PM

A number of mobs are not supposed to aggro you while in treeform. I'm not sure if its working correctly here, but on live I distinctly remember giants in Frontier Mountains conning as dubious on live way back in the day.

Filbus Smells.

Also, I have absolutely nothing to add to this thread.

Refrigerator.

Brilliant spell when used properly.

It's a cheap way to heal if you need to med for a while anyway.
It's particularly good if you can find a spot where you can pull and kill without having to move, so the regen is happening all the time. Use porcupine mode to kill the mobs.

Healing is free. You just need to med for offensive magic. You will level almost twice as fast with the free regen.

There aren't a lot of places where you can do this.
One that used to work well was the tower on the osland with 2 close aviak guards up top. (in lake rathe). I think that got broken somehow though.

I've also made it work on the bandit camp in the NW of NK. You really need to know your harmony spell.

One annoying thing is when the mobs run away and you need to cancel treeform to loot them. If it's a toon I don't suppose that matters though.

Note also that treeform gets better with level. Up to a point.

On the original servers it was possible to get knocked through the world by some mobs. I think it was bash that did it. I've never seen that happen on p1999 though.

Bad thing is it cancels sow which is the stupid historical quirk that we must endure. Irritating but not such a big deal. Esp if you are under level 14.

Makes it easy for people to find you if you/they are ever lost. Just spin in circles.

Good point. At that stage of the game you are pretty much done with even playing a Druid. Just a port whore for guild and friends.

I use Spirit of Oak for a few thinks.

Mainly for when I am Manastone/Clicky Healing. Regrowth+Oak ends up being about 30 HP a tick, which is a free Manastone every 2 ticks. Roughly 10 mana a tick. Plus the mana regen it actually provides. It helps going from oom to FM quicker.

Also I will use it when powerleveling in Unrest if I'm pulling basically the whole zone sans first floor stuff. It allows me to almost never have downtime for medding and never have to wait on respawns cause there's always stuff.

I use it occasionally on a dragon fight underneath the mob to root self in place if I may get feared... But not really worth it once you get decent MR gear.

And lastly to make fun corpses.
