i think it was more like: there was a few weeks straight where empire was demolishing ragnaros on his toons (nothing has changed), and he continuously/ miraculously got item pulls off on almost every exchange. it also sort of indicates how badly he doesn't want to die, so right now you're just seeing people gloat about his deaths.

People will avoid dying at all costs on this server

its why pvp is stupid in eq, too many ways to escape and so hard to secure kills.
