I gave that guy 5p food, water, and buffs in Qeynos Hills last night. Also told him to get a port to EC.

What a dick, I want my 5p back.

I still dont see what went wrong here? He accidently ran though an orc camp while looking the other way?

I gave the guy 40, a stack of food and a level because he seemed so new.

Wtf is this thread even about?

Anyone can make a mistake. It's also possible to make a mistake without being a dick to other people. When someone is an asshole, as this guy clearly was, there should be a consequence of some sort. Since we're not allowed to train them, this is the consequence: he's being made fun of on the internet!

People who do this sort of shit in-game just want attention. You not only gave him that, but started a post about him on the forums too. This is like giving a child candy for having a temper tantrum.

I re read this, I see whats wrong here.

Maybe some of my pimpish aura rubbed off on him ?

1. It's inappropriate to spread the word on the forums that this is a person to avoid
2. It's inappropriate to train them in game
3. It's not something the devs will act on

How can I cause a negative consequence to behavior like this? Without a consequence, we're not as a community discouraging this kind of behavior in any meaningful way. /ignore simply doesn't punish.

You obviously do not know the game. /ignore will punish him. Once he gets higher level and is looking for groups, it will get pretty hard for him unless he wants to solo all day long.

Atleast for a few more months.

True.

Then I have to ask the GM's for a name change, and reapply to IB for epic pet.

Then, I win!

Problem with that is, those kinda players don't usually see beyond their own bullshit. Not when they're lowbies, not when they're 50.

Maybe it'd be a good idea for the community to compile a list of these douchebags for everyone to streer clear of. Nothing like a server-wide "ignore" to make them see the error of their ways.
