sarnak warhammer is much much better.

Sarnak warhammer doesn't have an additional DD on top of the stun proc. Very slightly better atk/dly ratio but I wouldn't call it much better.

is there actually real proof it doesn't drop again somewhere, other than word of mouth?

According to Allakhazam, it says it still says it's listed as it still drops off of various (unlisted) creatures in KC, its rarity is just "Uncommon" and not "No Longer Dropped"
