I'd like some clarification from the server heads about this. If FG trades are allowed on here, and people want it, I have a few hundred.

I've wondered how forum gold works. I know you can buy it for $$ from the guy and then trade it to players for items, and then players can trade the forum gold for other items. It still doesn't fit, though. Can you cash the forum gold in for $$ again? In other words, is there intrinsic value? If that's not the case (but surely it is?) then forum gold seems like something that's traded around for "goods" but has no actual value itself. Kind of like USD?

Devs have been clear you can not trade anything not on p99 for items/plat/char on p99.

if you are a donor on d2jsp there is a special forum for trusted users (donor status attained by giving FG back to njaguar, the owner... or by buying it, though it would take a lot of money to get to that level with cash) where FG trades can be made for RL items, im pretty sure. FG was made for this sort of stuff... trading it off for things of value in a game, it shouldn't be illegal at all. though i doubt anyone would do fg trades

Seems like a pretty cut and dry RMT to me.

You can buy FG with $$, therefore it is a RMT. Just because you can't turn around and sell the FG for $$ (at least easily) doesn't mean it is not a RMT.
