Every time Obrae whines about mage pets, the patch gets pushed back another week.

There are many examples of the devs not really knowing what they were doing back in 99. So many imbalances.

Look at warriors...they are THE tank, yet are terrible at holding aggro.

Hybrids with a 40% XP penalty to supposedly offset their increased power over the pure classes. You're telling me Paladins and Rangers are OP so they needed an XP penalty to balance them?

Mages in Kunark having pets that can't possibly hope to stand up to mobs, when their entire class meta is to pet tank.

Wizards.

Massive discrepancy in Epic weapon difficulty, not tied to usefulness. Necro epic = incredibly difficult and questionably useful. Shaman epic = class defining and laughably easy.

The list goes on and on...they were just throwing dart and seeing what stuck. Despite all this, we nerds sit here playing a 20 year old game. /shrug

Humans missing the XP bonus due to fat fingering.

Mages getting a spell to dismiss pets... 3 levels before they get pets.

Snakes that kick.

This, and mages being THE pet class, but both necros and enchanters get their pets at lvl 1, mages at lvl 4.
This combined with the dismiss pet spell so early make me wonder if mages were originally intended for pets at lvl 1 and then changed later on. But the reclaim energy spell got left in at original level.
