I have titanium...dont remember anything about spell effects in the guides...iM using the Duxa installer too. Yea > I dont get why is see others but not my own.

sigh...Im so comfused...I saw a level 30 necros spells going off..but there was another low level cleric casting and I aw some offensive spells but another time he casted something and no effects. Im only low levels so its hard to get anywhere theres a bunch of casters going off. Dangit.. =(

Try doing the command: /showspell on

EQ's client has 2 ways of killing particles: Opacity 0%, and /showspell off.

If that doesn't work, chances are it's a file problem. You're likely missing any of these..

spellsnew.edd
spells_us.txt ---- the one that belongs on this server.

Some servers ask you to delete/replace these, which, if you have done to play on another server, may have contributed to your problem.

If all else fails, delete directory, reinstall Titanium, and follow Project 1999 Starters guide to the T =)

Still no luck with the off/on and I have all of those files....oh well. Thanks for the help....I guess no EQ for me...its not horrible having no effects but its just a deal breaker for me.. Im weird I know....well, got to revist the xroads at least =P

Just some more research I dont know if anyone has any answers but......My highest character so far is 4...I can seem to see other charcters spells that appear to be big burst spells ...when i cast skin like wood or flame lick i dont see anything...If i remmber from orig EQ ,they were just minor effects around the hands. When I see other characters cast similar spells I dont see anything. I was talking to someone else and he wasnt able to see any effects on himslef from his spells, but he saw mine...

Is this something common and part of the emu, which just has to be delt with? Everything else runs fine. Just frustated was ready to jump down the ole EQ rabbit hole =P

i would do what someone else said earlier, just do a complete reinstall and try again...something probably happened to one of your files...not really sure
