We do NOT maintain a public ban list and will NEVER maintain a public ban list so "Name and shame" has no place. You guys can drop it.
Sirken and I had a convo about this yesterday. Imagine if your GM's were human, and maybe sometimes they make a mistake and ban an innocent person (Innocent people go to jail IRL too....shit happens)
So let's say I misread my evidence and ban someone for RMT and name and shame them. Human nature dictates that it is not likely that I am going to come back at a later date EVEN AFTER figuring out I was wrong and rescind that ban. Personally I would just come out and say "Hi i made a mistake" and take the person off of the public ban list but the problem is that people in game wouldn't always believe your name had been cleared etc. They would still always look at you in a negative fashion.
(brief comparison: Elementary school teacher John Smith is arrested for child molestation though he has done nothing wrong at all. His name is 100% cleared by the police and he is released and everything is expunged. but because the media has "Name and shame" 'd him already...there is NO way he would ever be able to get a job working with children again. Most people in the community would ALWAYS Look at him as a sex offender)
So name and shame will never happen but c'mon guys - it's not that hard to figure out if people were banned. here today...gone tomorrow.
