Neizche is the most overrated philosopher and human being in western history.

Asceticism > Hedonism

Born with money and luckily found a niche as a badboy in his little privileged life. Writing pretensions barely readable crap.

Ends up a drooling idiot.

And that's what Hedonism will always yield you in the end.

It agree it’s better but moderation in all things best course for most situations imo. I think it’s best to dabble in the pleasures life offers without drowning in them.

You might be thinking about Sigmund Freud.

Also overrated, but not as much. Mostly catered to rich housewives. Got famous through eloquent ideas and writing. Not surprising given his background.

I've just been waiting to bash Neizche. It's the trust-funded college kid intellectual among other types I dislike.

But a little bit of hedonism is fine. Keep in mind under Asceticism -- you still can get fucked wildly. Your just supposed to feel dirty afterwords.

hehe i liked this.

yeah balance asceticism and hedonism. for instance sobriety and staying as physically hot as you can in order to enjoy sex maximally. that's kinda my angle. my bf's is drinking and boyish carousing but only in the pursuit of networking/material advantage.

If you didn’t have Nietzsche, you wouldn’t have Sartre or Camus. Then again you probably wouldn’t have Hitler or WW2 either, so it’s a bit of a mixed bag. Nietzsche aphorisms are insanely quotable because he was so good at aphorisms. I like Nietzsche. Fite me.

JurisDictum 03-12-2019 10:38 PM

I'm a leftest because they call me a leftest.

Nietzsche was good at aphorisms. But I'm not sure if existentialism couldn't have been expressed without him. Camus is mostly famous for arguing against Nihilism If I'm correct.

Lets not go blaming only Germany for WW2 -- there were multiple groups involved there.

Does one of the groups start with a "J"?

Yes of course. Japan was deeply involved.

Students demand their university remove a professor after he said "colleges should be embrace diversity of opinion".
