I liked that game but have zero interest in pvp

So in the end what are going to be the differences game wise between origins and uthgard? Hah, and will bonedancer be released? I think the only problem i had with uthgard is that population was far to euro time zone for me so not enough players online.

How's the grind in this game? And what is a good class if I play an SK in EQ?

Not quite sure what DAOC Origins is but I think it's another emu server. If they're promising SI on release it's probably gonna be the Toopquest version of Uthgard. A lot of people went over to Toopquest based on a new classic server and unfulfilled promises, and then people realized the server was garbage and came back to P99. Uthgard has been working on SI for fucking years and it's not done yet, so I can only imagine Origins' implementation is going to be half-assed.

Max level is 50 and it's comparable to 1-50 in EQ, maybe a bit faster. It's super grindy compared to today's MMOs, but not nearly as much as 1-60 in EQ. Plus, at least on Uthgard, you can level up almost exclusively through PvP.

It's probably best to decide on which realm you want to play first. Reaver is probably the closest to an SK, other hybrid options are Champion, Thane, and Paladin.

There are some other "hybrid-esque" classes like Skald, which is technically the bard archetype but it's a hell of a lot more melee-focused than the others (Bard is magey and Minstrel is stealthy). I really like the Skald class, it's like utility, instant cast spells for interrupting casters, and smackdown all in one class. I have one at level 50.

Just be aware that not everything is 100% balanced on Uthgard so some classes have a hard time feeling useful at 50.
