Unlike red where you just kill any person you see in range, rallos was civilized where you only fought people for a reason, not just to get YT or your name on some leaderboard.

^There was tons of PvP on Rallos..it just wasn't a random Zergfest like it is here on red because there arn't as many guilds here on R99 as there were on Rallos. If you randomly ganked someone that was in a large guild or alliance guild then you got blacklisted by those guilds. Guilds fought with each other for raid targets regularly in a similar bitter fashion as to what occurs here but back then we were paying money to play the game so reason had to prevail eventually if anyone ever wanted to complete a raid again in peace.

Here nobody gives a fuck because its not costing them anything to waste someone else's time by being disruptive if they cant agree on a problem.

To answer the question, I'm sure the GM's do care but there probably isn't enough staff available to be dedicated to the constant issues that they are asked to deal with on RED..

Not sure what era HB played in but certainly not 2001-2002

Crushbone had constant PVP, always

Same with Thurgadin

The pop was high enough that you always had a list of guild tags to kill, FOH, Darkenbane, black claws, Artful death etc, etc... even if you played it anti-PK

http://ralloszek.stephans.org/rz/allguilds.php

The fact that this isnt plainly obvious to HB makes me doubt he even played EQ prior to shadows of Luclin. You either were in a PK guild and PKed whoever you wanted or you were an anti-PK with a guild tag list, a neverending sequence of PVP target opportunities, every day.

H

be careful, they might see too many changes on red and start ignoring you until you quit

Whatever Haynar does, I hope he does not ever walk down a path where he leaves before the shit is classic. At least for blue.

RZ in the same era (i.e. Kunark) had less PVP then here, end of story. If you think otherwise then you were probably spending a lot of time in Crushbone, Unrest, Misty Thicket, etc.

Library in TOFS had pvp, Thurgadin had pvp, Everfrost, Oasis.... just everywhere

Of course if you were neckbearding up in raids and doing nothing but that, maybe then, i had too much fun fucking around in low levels that i only reached 44 before i quit. Thats what im aware of, the 1-40 bracket during Velious era, there was tons of pvp, especially compared to what classic looked like here with xp in loss in pvp which had most people avoiding pvp to race to 50.

EverQuest was not counterstrike with elves as people like to pretend it is here. As such, live Everquest on rallos zek was more good vs evil, order vs discord than it was about wasting entire days trying to kill as many people as possible for no reason in a game where dying sucks and is very likely to cause your opponent to log out for the day after a few deaths. Bear in mind, that even with item loot, the average player did not engage in random PKing.

If it wasn't for stupid LNS rules on this box, you'd see players police the server the way like it was on live and a better environment for everyone. Instead of having faggots plugged in and out of populated areas that log in every 30-1hr just to gank/grief someone and call LNS when it goes sour, never actually contesting a dungeon or raid, players like me would wait for them and sit on their corpse until it rots so everyone else can have fun.

tbh LnS is a necessary evil

otherwise i could farm a newbie trying to move on with his life

Dullah 08-04-2014 01:24 PM

Reasonable LNS is a no brainer, it was always that way. Enforcing LNS for a player that is hellbent on griefing the general population of a box should make them an obvious exception, and fair game for counter terrorism.

Highly disagree with 2nd paragraph. The only self policing is trolls on fungi tunic alts corpse camping newbs off the box to be faggots. There's zero self policing in effect here. The non existence of LNS rules before hand basically discouraged any mass pvp as losing meant you might not get your corpse for days, as a couple of bards camping outdoor zones could shut down your CR forever. Nihilum views basically everyone else as boxing cheaters, true or not, and believe everyone else has it "coming to them". Either way doesn't really matter, it's not like there's that much PVP here to begin with for this to be an issue anymore.
