Always depends on the game. Such as for EVE, server located in London, 200ms to server on avg. However with tidi (time dilation) large battles are doable as everyone is being slowed down. For small gang and solo, cov-ops is ideal, say with a stealth bomber, as you pick your fights and aren't suddenly surprised by the lag of an incoming player who already got a lock on you before the latency caught up. That along with combat probes and directional scanning to give an idea of whats going on in the system.

But I figured the server was located someplace like that, more and more emu servers are moving or being set up in Europe for reasons I wont mention here.

So this server is DAoC classic? No expansions?

Also, is there a wipe between "beta" and "launch" for uthgay?

Originally played DAOC on Percival few months after release, never got the chance to play on the Uthgard1.0 but met a lot of cool people on Genesis that were from there. Havent logged on Genesis for months now but have 20 or so 50's across all three realms.

I love Hib, was my original back during classic DAOC. I played a ranger or whatever the ranged class was. I really want to do an enchanter or something else this go round. Put me down for melee dps or enchanter.

This is mostly classic DAoC. It is patch level 1.65, with the old RA system in place. SI (Shrouded Isles, similar to our Kunark) will be the only expansion enabled, but it's not 100% ready yet so it will be delayed after launch.

There will be a wipe after beta. It's going to be a completely fresh start for everyone, and like I said, is going to be a very special time to be a part of.
