Under FAQ (hubby is trying it now):

10. "An unknown error occurred while trying to join the server" I get this error, what do i do?

This issue can happen for a number of reasons, usually it can be fixed by simply attempting to log in a few times. However, if you find that you still can't log in,
try changing your eqhost.txt file from:

[LoginServer]
Host=login.eqemulator.net:5998

to

[LoginServer]
Host=leqemulator.net:5998

Having same issue.

Never mind... the tip from the FAQ did not appear to work. He had to change it back. :(

Same thing happening to me. I was playing about 30 mins ago, logged out for dinner, and now can't get back in.

Yup. cripes. I turned modem/router off for 10 minutes along with the computer. still no joy.
I'll just have to read a book i guess.

I'm back in, and wow, I just realized, I'm physically & mentally addicted to this game!

Having the same issue for roughly past hour.

Windows Defender had an update today. Updated WD to exclude Everquest and I am back in

Just logged in. :)

One attempt went all black right pick your server page. I t was frozen/locked.

The next time it logged all the way in. Probably 30+ tries over a few hours.
