Strangest to me was letting the duck/cancel mechanic go unfixed on blue for years (it was in on red so totally could have been done quickly)...think it was only "classic" at a certain point in the Velious timeline. Still an otherwise great server and better than anything else out there.

If EQclassic launches properly and has anti-boxing code I'd play the shit out of it :p

This right here is the true classic EQ, with the glorious UI that shows your character's portrait when you open the Inventory screen.

Really liked that video. Tbh, I've wanted to plunk around in pure classic, but it's never been available. Heck, even the UI. It's totally not convenient, but we all know it's not about convenience at this point. People have tried to re-create the classic UI, but nobody has been able to nail it 100%.

I'm enjoying your breakdown of what you're doing with this ancient material.

Zaela that character select gave me the biggest nostalgia burst ever! Thanks for that! Omg I didn't realize how much I missed the super classic eq client! Remember that clunky inventory and you saw through a tiny box on an already tiny 15 inch crt monitor? I miss that shit.

TAKP had started on Trilogy support, but it requires a lot of changes to get working, and it really isn't worth it.
