Plenty of people aren't concerned with the loot and are there for the experience. A lot of folks wouldn't be able to do complete growth raids without these open raids. This has all been stated before in previous threads. Stay mad though.

Most people you talk to in Everquest don't start or end their stories in "remember that phat shiney pixel I got?" It's a memory of adventure.. of people coming together to vanquish dragons, gods, giants, dwarfs, mushrooms, and frogs. Sure pixels are cool, but a story how the unlikely became a reality is much more appealing!
