It was always hard to sell at 3AM EST. I'd see maybe two or three people spamming the same items over a few hours. I feel for the off hour players, I often find myself playing at odd times so I've seen the server at many different times during the day. It honestly doesn't feel any less populated. I still find groups. I still talk to other people. The problem isn't the lack of global chat, the issue is strictly population and that's not something the devs can patch in. It'll come.

We seem to make our own rules on certain issues, and then we implement classic ideals on controversial ones. SOE made patches to deal with its community with issues that were at hand for them. We need to look back and fully define what "Classic" is and how it may effect us as a community. We have a good thing going here its a refuge for vet gamers. I'm not saying lets go outside the box, but possibly make sure that we don't destroy it ether.

Those are hella classic. I remember Da'Kor doing stuff like "Dakor has defeated Yourguild in a duel to the death. Yourguild has fled like a cowardly dog."

Well since this thread title is addressed to me, from you, I assume you're still speaking to me.

This particular issue has to deal with global channels. This was an absolute everyday aspect of the game... from release till Luclin. If you think I implement anything without "looking back to fully define what classic is", then you fail to grasp the point that I probably spend more time thinking about it than you do.

What exactly do you think should be happening? I'd say near halt is a far cry from the truth.

And how many of those players are over level 15? How many of those players are actually selling items?

Last Sunday I was on at 1AM EST and there were 20 people over level 15. At 2AM EST there were 15 people over level 15. There were maybe 10 people during those times actually auctioning items.

I agree on it being classic Nil, if this was anything more than using a global channel i wouldn't even think twice to question it. EQ is for the strong, and I would hate to see any kind of Ez modes being used.

What? Global ooc/auction was turned off Sunday, the 23rd, way after 1am est.

I posted the announcement thread at 1:14am cst, which is 2:14 am est. Rogean posted the patch notes at 6:27am cst, which is 7:27am est.

If you're saying there's not enough population in general, then I agree with you, but we are working on that. I do not see how it is relevant if 20 people are trying to sell to 20 people, or 100 to 100, though.

Also, you are intentionally biasing your own statistics by placing an arbitrary 'level 15' cap on what constitutes a 'valid trader'.

A fact I am sure you probably know, but are intentionally 'forgetting' because it doesn't suit the point you are desperately trying to make, is that many people use the concept of a 'vendor mule' to do their trading. By definition, these vendor mules will be below level 15. It's very very common because no one wants to waste an hour traveling from their 'hot exp zone' to spend some time trading in EC before logging off. No, they'll camp out their main near where they XP, log over to their vendor mule, and do their trading without having to spend time in travel.
