Actually found NG open for like, the first time ever, since I started poking around in seb. And after a rough start, courtesy of some monk training his way into crypt without warning me (but I'm not bitter anymore, because he died and I'm fairly certain my pet contributed to it)... things were rolling along nicely.

I never managed to get a nice pet in the roamer, so I kept grabbing a bok knight from down nearer to crypt and using him to kill the scarabs, the roamer, and the other static frog. I probably went through 4 cycles of bugs (netting me 1 BS and a few rubies) before necrosis popped.

My pet was rooted in place from some blur-healing, so I tashed the scarab and he stopped when he got to my pet: http://postimage.org/image/u0buwpvtn/

Rooted him and started slowing, which took a few tries, and then charm broke while spells were recovering. They got me down to 60-something before I landed a stun and got things back under control. Because of the positioning of my pet, the next scarab to pop had me a bit worried, so I rooted+tashed him where he stood just incase: http://postimage.org/image/vpmoz0ngz/

As someone who's interested in this and is still leveling (59 shaman for now), I enjoy reading your posts, so don't stop! This whole challenge is about pushing the envelope of what is possible, and doing more with less. So seeing people under 60 kill even low-tier stuff is pretty cool, I think.

Personally, I've only checked off a couple of mobs on the list, and I haven't even played much in the past month. But learning to survive in HS north has been pretty fun, and it's a lot different for a Shaman than an Enchanter. :)

Solo'd Efreeti twice now with a bat pet, no clickies =D

The fight itself isn't terrible if things go your way. The second time a fizzle on my root hurt me, since I can sneak pull him out like halflings, and efreeti landing a nuke on me while I was CCing his guards brought me to 45%, where I stayed the whole fight. Kept the bat up easily even while despelling him twice and rerooting the guards later. Thought about healing myself toward the end and then my bat dropped low so I healed him instead, bat got to 15%, but efreeti was under 10% at that point anyway.

Finally got a ring the second time, so that was a nice bonus. Gotta try FGs now I think.

How resistant are djarn and his guards for you at 60? What weapons did you give your pet?

Damn. After I logged in this morning and found chef up, and then spent 2 cycles clearing stuff down in his room and in Froggy's area without event, I was feeling like I might get to post a double update.

But then I tried to invis pull the armsman PH over to froggy's area and got a crit resist on my first lull directed at a see-invis jin wiz over there and couldn't quite salvage the operation... musta been 2 52s in the room with him, cause I just could not get fetter to stick on them so that I could hop out of LoS and camp off aggro. Oh well. I hatted. Also, dang it! I always forget that I have several nets I should use to deal with situations like this.

But yeah, before all that, I logged in to find chef up. Conveniently there was a bok knight (and 3 krup knights) in his room with him, so I lulled the place up and petted+weaponized the bok, had him bring chef back to near the top of the stairs there, and proceeded as usual:

No loot SS cause I was camping out already; wasn't sure if I could manage to pick up that scarab through the door or something, so I was trying to be careful. It was just a bladecatcher for me to give to a fire beetle or something, I guess ;)

Nice job soloing efreeti. I've duoed him with a necro a few times and nearly died both times. He is a resistant bastard. Curious if the bats land stun on him? I've always used imps as pets, and they backstab. If the bats actually land stuns on him, then that might change things.

Just junk weapons, no tash-stick or anything. Didn't nuke/cast on him at all except for dispell, though I know I can nuke him from experience. Don't think bat stun landed, but not really sure.

Bats won't stun him, sadly. I figured that out the first time solo'd him. Brought 2 gnoll whips for the bat which helped a TON. Basically half the imp / guard fights, the bat doesn't need a heal at all. :) Doesn't work as effectively on the Efreeti.

Well crap. I killed repairer like 5 hours ago now, and I've kind of forgotten my story about him. I don't THINK there was much to say really. I started keeping the chef/repairer room clear except for the bok knight I had as a pet, which was a super nice way to go compared to all the lulling and ninja pulling and crap I have done for most of my time in here. There was plenty of room to fight on the top of the stairs without aggroing more frogs from below or the pathing mob in the room outside. Of course, just about the time I had all the frogs in there spaced out nicely, repairer popped.

I actually thought Froggy spawned out in the room behind me here, by the table out there. But I can't blame that for it taking forever to finally see him, because 3/4 of the time I was clearing the mob in this side room out also. It is SO annoying when there are shamans all over the place, spamming greater heals on my enemies every time they get down to like 35% hp. I'm hoping I never have to worry about cleric mobs around every corner, CHing things... lol.

I didn't kill him again though. A swarm of krup shamans over by armsman was going to keep me busy for a bit until I got tired of all the frog death and decided to take the rest of the day off.
