Just read the OP not the rest, I don't understand how a fungi protects a single person from dying to a full group. In a 2 min fight that is what, 400 hp? People just need to be aware of their surroundings, map /who to a separate window and movement key, fight deeper in dungeons instead of pulling shit to the entrance and coordinate defensive efforts.
