Just seems to me as someone who was run a business that if you have a product to sell you don't see as much success when you tell your customers to go fuck themselves. Not that we are paying for anything but we are still their "market" and without us they wouldn't be making as much money off these adds, there would be a smaller contribution via donations and the community wouldn't be as colorful.

Furthermore my thread which was valid for discussion took the collateral damage just because she was upset with Darwoth even though she quite obviously could have dealt with it another way. I never shit on Amelinda in that thread I gave her credit for trying to work with the people who want an actual Global OOC channel. I was just trying to convey that the solution which she came up with while quite clever is actually of great detriment to this particular everquest server.

we don't make any money off of this. ALL OF THE MONEY THAT COMES FROM GOOGLE ADSENSE GOES INTO PAYING FOR HOSTING. It is NOT cheap to host two servers and the message board. I have no actual info from rogean on this but it would NOT surprise me if it was $1000 a month. plus if hardware breaks we have to replace it etc. so google adsense and donations all go to cover that shit. none of us ever see a dime personally from the server. unsure why i need to even explain that when i figured all of that out on my own as a player a year ago but there ya go.

As far as deleting the global ooc guild. i'm not going to do it. we'll have global ooc in on the server soon and i may change the name of it to newbie or something for newer players but for now it gives unguilded people some other people to talk to etc.

you can always recruit people from there. it's not a real guild - it's really only a chat channel. posting requests to the staff on the message board like that really is an ineffective method of communication as i would not have even seen the thread if darwoth hadn't posted his racist agenda bullshit there and someone linked me. my message board time is spent deleting giant black cocks, you see.
