MUH FREE STUFF NOW

It's not free because of the individual mandate, at the moment. I'm waiting for the introduction of language into the GOP's bill that will allow insurers to financially penalize anyone who has not had continuous health insurance coverage. Either way will still create artificial demand for health care and drive up costs to consumers.

i don't understand normies to understand how big pharma works but most of the driven up costs of healthcare really come from medical research (USA companies fund basically all medical research on the planet) and malpractice suits ('murica) -- outside of the general fuckery that is hospitals

like ok cool we could distribute patient care better with socialized medicine than a capitalistic system. what nobody considers is how none of these socialized medicine countries can sustain the level of medical research the USA provides for them, let alone really any without injected money from our capitalistic system.

so basically we could do a bit better providing medicine already available under a socialized system, but then the government essentially owns your body & health and most medical research halts. that AIDS cure that's like 6 years off from the market? yeah that wouldn't be happening if we were Sweden. remember that shrek-eli dude who bought a wu tang album and went viral because liberals hated him so much for driving up the cost of toxoplasmosis medicine? yeah he's like the only person on the planet developing gen 2 medicines for rare diseases that aren't neurotoxic like current 1910's era hackjob era medicines currently used.

people also like to ignore that socialized systems in countries like sweden or whatever would collapse if they had to start thinking about anything beyond providing patient care because they're effectively financially subsidized by the US medical industry.

Sen. Bernie Sanders, I-Vt., and his wife, Jane Sanders have hired prominent defense attorneys amid an FBI investigation into a loan Jane Sanders obtained to expand Burlington College while she was its president, CBS News confirms.

Politico Magazine first reported the Sanders had hired lawyers to defend them in the probe. Sanders' top adviser Jeff Weaver told CBS News the couple has sought legal protection over federal agents' allegations from a January 2016 complaint accusing then-President of Burlington College, Ms. Sanders, of distorting donor levels in a 2010 loan application for $10 million from People's United Bank to purchase 33 acres of land for the institution.

According to Politico, prosecutors might also be looking into allegations that Sen. Sanders' office inappropriately urged the bank to approve the loan.

Burlington attorney and Sanders supporter Rich Cassidy has reportedly been hired to represent Sen. Sanders. And high-profile Washington defense attorney Larry Robbins, who counseled Libby "Scooter" Robbins, former Chief of Staff for the Vice President, is protecting Jane Sanders.

Ms. Sanders' push for the liberal arts college's costly land acquisition was cited in a press release by the college when it shut down in 2016.

Brady Toensing of Burlington, the man responsible for the claims filed to the U.S. attorney for Vermont, was a chairman for the Trump campaign in his state.

"I filed a request for an investigation in January 2016 and an investigation appears to have been started right away," he said in an email to CBS News. "It was started under President Obama, his Attorney General, and his U.S. Attorney, all of whom are Democrats."
"My only hope is for a fair, impartial, and thorough investigation," Toensing added.

Weaver told CBS News that Toensing's claim that Sen. Sanders used his influence to lobby for the loan is a "political charge" that is "baseless" and "false."

And as for the claim that Ms. Sanders manipulated the loan application, Weaver said, "The loan was approved by the financial board at the college."

Sen. Sanders, formerly mayor of Burlington, Vermont's largest city, regards the claims as a political game levied against him after his run for president in the 2016 primary election, a platform which has transformed the small-state senator into an influential voice in American liberal politics.

CNN said Monday that three journalists, including the executive editor in charge of a new investigative unit, have resigned after the publication of a Russia-related article that was retracted.
Thomas Frank, who wrote the story in question; Eric Lichtblau, an editor in the unit; and Lex Haris, who oversaw the unit, have all left CNN.
"In the aftermath of the retraction of a story published on CNN.com, CNN has accepted the resignations of the employees involved in the story's publication," a spokesman said Monday evening.
An internal investigation by CNN management found that some standard editorial processes were not followed when the article was published, people briefed on the results of the investigation said.
The story, which reported that Congress was investigating a "Russian investment fund with ties to Trump officials," cited a single anonymous source.

Popular “Sesame Street” character Elmo sympathized with refugee kids in an interview Monday with CNN, remarking that they are just like kids in America.

Elmo was part of a panel including CNN reporter Clarissa Ward, Sherrie Westin from Sesame Workshop, and David Miliband from the International Rescue Committee.

“Did you find that the Syrian little girls and little boys were a lot like your friends here in America?” Ward asked Elmo.

“Yeah, they really were,” said the “Sesame Street” character. “It was very interesting because they like to play and learn just like Elmo and all of his friends at Sesame Street.”
hm, yes, these syrian "children" are just like the other kids! http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/arti...um-crisis.html
