Seems legit.
I actually did choke a drunk dude out at a party once after he swung a knife at me. I choked him out for so long he was having seizures and people were crying and begging me to stop. When I stood up I thought he was dead, and then his body started convulsing all over the place.
Never saw the guy again, but didn't see anything about a murder on the news. 5+ years later I was over at my sister's house and this same dude was sitting at her kitchen table. Almost as soon as he recognized me he just stood up and abruptly left.
I told my sister the story and she told me I was stupid and that it never happened. It almost made me question my own memory.. was this the same guy? I was like 80% sure, but you can never be positive.
Weeks, possibly months later I'm over at my sister's house and the same guy is there, this time with his wife. We're drinking beer, and he suddenly walks up to me and asks me if I remember him, and I told him I did. No hard feelings.
To be honest when he pulled that knife on me I was the only person at the party who didn't think it was a big deal. That's why I rendered him unconscious with a rear naked choke instead of trying to hurt him. It's just that my training kicked in and I went over-board because I was pretty drunk myself and couldn't sense if he was unconscious or not since he never tapped or anything.
Normally in the gym people know to tap, or bystanders know when to stop it.
