You're actually the forum troll I'm talking about - Cast is gone, time for you to eat a ban I hope - even this thread is just you arguing with other kids about some bullshit, plus non stop accusations of cheating going around rampant - when it's not even close to the case.

most of you are retards

the reason the server died ( i said this on beta ) is it takes too long to accomplish something

add 1 griefing or train , pvp exp loss etc and people quit

progress too slow = no server the end

the only people that will grind exp at this rate are the hardcore antisocial basement dwelling losers that ruin any mmo

10x exp or pointless box , and surpreme pop ulation 200? yer funny

it seems none of you came here wanting to meet new people, make BOTH new friends and enemies. none of you came to grind it out, to crawl through dungeons, to try holding camps, all while dealing with other players trying to stop you via pvp.

if you came here expecting call of duty, naturally i see why you would be upset. but if you came here expecting EQ, then i look forward to seeing you all on the server.

Sirks

There is two camps...

One camp is what Sirken describes...

Other camp is more about PVP for raid content than PVP to grief/frag.

The only thing that kept me from rolling on Red99 was I knew it was just going to be twinked out alts doing PvP my whole time leveling, I would've definitely done it if it had the same rule as I think Firiona Vie did, where you can only have 1 character on the server, but alot of players would probably dislike it.

server downfall

The server will never reach its potential because there is no appropriate example. The GM's have their own ideas about who and what will be punished, though it contridicts the legitamacy of recreating classic everquest. From the limited exposure I have had with the GM's on blue/red
P99, I dont get the impression they are in it to help people. There are exceptions granted to some, but not others, Favortism, suspensions, bans, and at times, no action is taken. One thing is certain to be successful you need to be fair, consistant, and lead by example. I played on this hidden forest for a bit, it was not for me, but the GMs were great!, they actually were welcoming, concerned, and accomidating, something that will never be known to the P99 community.

Its pretty straight forward. Be Fair, be respectful, and be consistant.

My first go-around I quit because of the exp rate, and because I felt like I was playing single player (nobody in newbie zones, nobody in chat).

I came back with several TZ people after the exp change and currently play.

I think one of the larger problems the server has is the forum trolls and the constant reminder of doom and gloom and how bad the server is etc. this forum is the first thing a player looks at before deciding to join it or not. based on what I see, I'd just move along if I was a random/non referral.

nothing is really as bad as people try to make it seem. there's some angry/butt hurt folks that stick around to constantly remind us of things, but it's really not a true representation of the server. it's like a review of anything in life - very rarely will anyone stick around and post about how much fun they are having, but everyone that wants to vent and bitch will air it here frequently.

I agree.

There are legitimate issues that should not be ignored, but there's a massive difference between "THIS SERVER IS HOPELESS AND HERE'S WHY IT FAILED" and wanting to constructively improve the experience.

Staff presence/moderation is sparse. At the same time, the red playerbase could make it much more appealing for staff to actually want to be working on things here. That rapport between staff/player is damaged (and was heavily damaged during the first month or so of the server).

I was pretty happy to see Null actually respond to the resists thread and address the overall feedback.

Global OOC hasn't been touched. A poll was put up in January. Threads keep popping up. It's an example of something that should be addressed. I have been fairly vocal about it - not because I want to bitch about something, but because I try to keep the casual player in mind who starts up a new character on this server. I think people try to play and quit because of the current experience, which is not "classic" because of the population, and so we have to make the appropriate adjustments. This is why I keep pushing for that.

Players could do a better job of calling out the positives of the server and promoting it. We don't do nearly enough of this.

My biggest issue is the fact that the population continues to go down. I can handle all the other issues. Its extremely hard to put in time on a server that looks to be vacant in a few months.

The lack of GM communication was terrible after the first month and before a month ago. The biggest update was a post from Rogean on page like 50 of 100+ in rants in flames(That took months for them to follow through on). I'll admit that the communication lately has been better(or at least more).

It could also be the fact that your guild leader is an openly racist idiot. Maybe that's why your guild didn't thrive. Just a thought.

Marglar 03-12-2012 08:37 PM

Arillious - have you considered that maybe it's time to look for a new guild for you and your remaining pals? I know, it's not the same without your buddies, but there's several opportunities out there to make new friends on emu, to keep the game enjoyable

Needs item loot and a slight exp modifier. Why not try something unique that adds an element to the game - something that a lot of old pvprs enjoyed back in the day?

Billbike 03-12-2012 10:37 PM

Server is fun. The scaling exp bonus is great.

Population was 150+ at peak hrs, more than enough to find a group or pvp.

After all, it's a free server. I would like global ooc and YT, but in the immortal wisdom of

It's good fun.
