Hi Sirken, may I ask what's your policy in general about bans? It seems some end up unbanned, sometimes sooner than later. And there doesn't seem to be real permanant bans. It tends to weaken the scope of the "discipline" which is being handed out. What's the official stand on that subject?

some things we take very seriously, MQ/SEQ and RMT are a couple of those things. for example when we took down platlord, we had to ban hundreds and hundreds of accounts, and then wait for the "why am i banned" petitions to start coming in. those petitioned accounts would then be looked at in more detail on a case by case basis, and unbanned if deemed to be innocent. and some people will ask, "but Sirken, why wouldnt you just do that in the first place?" well thats pretty simple too, we simply do not have the man power to go through 200-300 accounts in a timely fashion. the only way to stop platlord was to hit everything at once, hard and fast, and accept the collateral damage, until we could look at petitions and verify who was truly innocent. as far as MQ/SEQ, it has always been my belief to ban first and ask questions later. well believe it or not, MQ compiles exist that have been built specifically for p99/r99 by players here to circumvent our detectors. as we acquire these compiles from loyal players we have to constantly make tweaks to our detector to ensure its flagging players properly. sometimes this will cause a false positive. furthermore, sometimes players get flagged for having MQ, but not using it on our servers. again, a banned player will petition his MQ ban, and i will send it off to be verified by the Anti-Cheaters Division. myself and the CSR team only see a "yes" or a "no" next to the MQ/SEQ flag. if i see a yes, you get banned. however the ACD can determine if the MQ was actually used on our server. as opposed to some other eqemu servers, some of which allow MQ use, also, some players on p99 have their own private server that they run MQ on. we can also see WHO was on the account at the time of the MQ use. if you think rules arent being enforced, break a few and watch what happens ;)

Hey Sirken, why don't you look in your reimbursement petitions section of the forum and deal with mine posted 2 months ago instead of talking with nerds that actually don't play on the server you're GMing for

we currently at this moment have 16 pages of petitions. and i just knocked out 6 pages on sunday-monday. apparently your guild doesnt teach it's members how to use the petition forum. also believe it or not, theres times i can read the forums, but cant log in to the game /gasp
