We just have different opinions, I learned my lesson in 6th grade. People = shit, always have and always will. The best are the people who act "holier than thou" like they have never/would never do anything wrong. These types of people are usually the biggest scumbags when no one is looking.

We live in a country that was founded on land soaked with the blood of generations of native americans, we vote for politicians who kill people all over the world without hesitation or reason, we wear diamonds which african kids probably lost fingers, hands, and arms for, we buy cheap electronics and clothing made by little 12 year old indian/chinese kids who work for pennies a day, the list goes on ...and all you phony zombies are going to sit there behind your computer screen and act as if morals have existed in this world for the last 200 years? That's hilarious to me.

I'm not a thief, never stolen in my life that I can recall. Its nice that due to my difference in opinion though that I've been flamed by you zombies, though. I got a few chuckles out of this thread, but to all the pussies that think "finders keepers, losers weepers" is a scummy thought process: you're all probably careless idiots.

Ill really get trolled for this: one time in 6th grade some dude stole my pokemon card binder that was worth probably as much as that Iphone. I never found out who it was but it WAS 100% my fault.that the cards were stolen because I put them in that position. I was irresponsible with my belongings, failed to keep them secure, and an opportunistic classmate of mine capitalized on MY MISTAKE. I don't blame anyone but myself, and the previous owner of that cellphone should feel the same way.

I found an Iphone on my front lawn about a week ago. I looked at the recent calls and saw one marked "Dad". I called that number and was instantly put in touch with the owner of the phone. Returned it an hour later. My reward was a slice of home made cake and the knowledge that im not a piece of shit.

P.S. AND im a black guy. take that stereotypes.

also people ARE responsible for themselves but CHOOSING to benefit from someone elses misfortune ( lets face it you dont know the circumstances so claiming iresponsibility is dumb ) kinda makes it scummy. you could have at any point chosen to help rather than profit.

Now, now guys... perhaps this phone has been lost long enough to be subject to treasure laws!

You're just too ignorant to realize that is stealing.

Had my phone stolen by a crackhead friend-of-a-friend a few years back and found the identical model on a newspaper box the next day. I was out of a job at the time, in school very poor, couldn't afford to replace mine.

So it was fate, right? I should have just swapped the sim and gone about my business, right? It was the person's fault for leaving it behind anyways...

Turns out the girl who owned it was in the exact same situation as I was, too student-broke to replace it. Had I kept the phone, I would have put someone else in the same situation I hated being in.

You can sit around being angry and bitter at a world full of "Shitty People" or you can lead the charge and serve as an example of what you'd prefer those people to be.

Sure, there's no guarantee that the girl would do the same, but the chances are that much better now because of what I did for them.

I agree that the person who lost something can only really blame themselves, but are you really trying to justify taking it from them when you have the opportunity to easily get it back to them? That's disgusting.
