Meh I soloed the cliff golem on like page 5 of this thread. If he's slowed, then just stun/mez pet/rapture/recharm/reslow/blur. It's a bit mana heavy (~1k for the whole business) but you should be able to handle 2 charm breaks at least.

Where shamans get insane is when they get the items. A shaman with a Bladestopper and Puppet strings is basically an enchanter with 25% more HP and the ability to heal up (and those are both huge. Like I would not have had the option to tank Vessel on Loraen). Still the invis pull changes have made it a lot more interesting for Shamans. Enchanters with calm don't care quite so much.

Yea I got a stun resist on my pet who proceeded to beat my face in cahoots with the cliff golem summoning me back =P

Fortunately it is a pretty easy mob to attempt since there is no real CR involved.

I am still hesitant to do a lot of the other stuff, especially with how rough CR are now with rogue nerf (IE dying in chef/disco).

Before I add Shinko, I'm pondering what to do about this most recent patch. The big change is the elimination of invis pulls, but in addition I was wandering around Sol B and as far as I can tell the FGs are once again unrootable. So Tranix, for example, has gone from trivial to actually pretty challenging.

Looking over the list, the ones that seem to be the most affected are:
  • Tranix, Skarlon, Rokyll are much harder.
  • East is now considerably harder; I got a number of my kills either by facepulling (when guards were mostly invis) or by dragging mobs out of the east nook
  • Drusella is basically Enchanter-only now (or maybe a really, really badass necromancer)
  • A number of the god mode mobs are simply impossible now including Tolapumj and the Spore King. Arguably the protector is impossible as well because its not easy to get a pet down there.

So basically we can either a) revoke everyone's kills using invis pulls or b) grandfather them. I'm actually kind of leaning towards A, but I'm also kind of lazy.

when i was messing around with

war cleric on General V'ghera

i guess i could farm soul fires till evasive is back...

Obviously I am biased. Despite this revoking kills is not a good idea: it wasn't like prot/jumpy etc were trivial, they were far far from that. They should of course be relpaced on this list because I agree that at least jumpy is impossible now.

A second idea is to allow help with pulls. IE: you get help bringing pets down to fight him with and or help pulling jumpy so long as the actual fight is down solo. It would be similar to rak ashiir, as rak was similarly impossible prior to the invis changes yet was still on the list because help was allowed for the pulls.

You already have S- and what not for people using strong clickies, just add an (i) for invis pulling or something along those lines.. essentially like the asterisk argument for baseball & steroids =P

In addition to invis pulling a lot of these are more dangerous now due to CR issues with rogue sneak being nerfed.. have fun cr'ing yourself naked if you die in disco 2 or chef =P The risk/reward on that makes me not want to bother. Of course I am very non-accomplished on enchanter so it seems like a more daunting task to me than it might be in reality.

Tecmos Deception 07-15-2013 11:14 PM

I like grandfathering things in. It's partly because I'm not to keen on going back to my sheet/writeups and figuring out which ones I actually facepulled so that I could then go back and kill them normally.

But it's also because 1) the kills before invis pulls were nerfed generally weren't easy even with that extra mechanic working in favor of the solo artist, 2) most everyone who reads this stuff knows the difference between a solo kill of DS or whatever today compared to the same kill a month ago, and 3) doing a revoke now could set up calls for more of them every time there's a change that affects soloers. /shrug

Solo CRs definitely are riskier now though. No more runing up and training a couple of SI mobs to your corpse then stunning/mezzing while you loot and scoot. But it's just as easy to have a necro summon you out now as it was to have a rogue drag you out before really.

The [Si] idea is nice though.

Mechanically yea but in practice...

Find a rogue in seb, np.

Find a necro in seb, problem =P

Time to group more in HS ;p

Adding to this post. I've started working on the solo challenge for Bowlofruit. I've done the frenzied scarab and Overthere golem so far. Going to spend time in hs east in the not too distant future. Pictures and ranking list to follow.
