People always use sexist / misogynist / chauvinist as a catch all. I know it's more to do with male attitude of superiority over women...

What word am I looking for? Sexual Harassment?

Sexual.

Sexist implies a discriminatory attitude toward a certain sex. Clearly not the case in the photo I posted.

Misogynist implies a hatred of women. Again, not the case here.

Chauvinist implies, as you said, an attitude of superiority over women. I in no way implied I was superior to anyone.

I expressed that I was sexually attracted to the female in the quoted post, not that I am superior, nor hate her, nor would discriminate against her. Thus, any of the "catch-all" words would not be used in proper context.

Referring to men as "being dogs" might also work if you are looking for the insult version.

Yeah but you did it in such a way that objectified her, which would imply a chauvinistic attitude. "i'd hit IT"

Shaun421 07-22-2010 12:32 PM

Unless the "it" was refering to a part of her anatomy and not her as a person.

Ihealyou 07-22-2010 12:43 PM

Hitting girls is bad.

It would be presumptuous of me to assume I am attracted to her in any other way except physical as I do not know her. Regardless of the gender of the source, a person who judges a persons physical attractiveness without the ability or willingness to get to know the person being judged is objectifying that person.

If you judged the attractiveness of the girl in the photo, and every straight male who has laid eyes on it has (those who say they didn't are lying), you are in a sense objectifying her, unless you know her. The only difference between myself and the other straight men who judged that photo is I put my final judgement out as a public statement in hopes of bringing a bit of humor.

This isn't a male chauvinist issue, this is a human issue. It's what we do as human beings.

To Clarify..

Lucrio's pic = Funny

His Definition of Male Chauvinism = Correct

What Mournblade said = Is how most people associate with the term & what I was thinking. I know Luc didn't mean it that way nor with a negative connotation.

Loretta = Pretty

That is all. Didn't mean to stir up a shit storm. :(

Don't put the pussy on a pedestal.

OngorDrakan 07-22-2010 01:48 PM

Ok seriously just post your RL pictures and not this asshatery bullshit that nobody cares about. :)
