Try Minions of Mirth, I haven't played it much myself, but it looks very EverQuest-ish. It's free, but you have the option to pay a one time fee for extra features.
You can play as a monster too, which is kind of neat. No idea how it works though. |
MOM, indie developed off the torque engine.. apparently similar mechanics to EQ, very EQ inspired. However, I don't think anyone actually plays it anymore.. it was small at its peak and probably much, much smaller now..
although the developers of MOM paved the way for a ton of indie developers to mess around using their MMO kit! got me interested in torque, t3d, and mmo development in general. very cool stuff. |

forgot about this thread and duno if i posted this in here.. but i tried vanguard maybe last year but i think the peak server had about 200 players online.. so yeah i didn't end up subbing. the game was finicky at best in terms of control but the actual game play and stuff seemed like i could probably enjoy it.. pretty bored lately guess im getting tired of mmorpgs or at least what has come out in recent year :(

Bump for anyone that knows of any games that may fit along side these types of games thats worth giving a shot. F2P or P2P is fine
EQ, DAoC, FFXI, Vanguard Something that is group oriented, PvP or little to no PvP is also fine.. just a good group based game hopefully with a nice community. I'll most likely end up trying red 99 since I never played EQ PvP server before but suggestions would be nice |
FFXI is best if you are looking for EQish grouping. In FFXI you can barely do anything after lvl 20 without a group
