Did you seriously waste 2-3 weeks of your life farming lambent gear? I would have uninstalled everquest 50 times by then.
Christ, no wonder we got the EC tunnel back. People are going nuts. |
The wealth of a community is determined by the rate of commerce, or the speed and size at which transactions are made. You're going to see that people who are starting now are going to be much poorer on average than the people who had access to global ooc because the rate of commerce has slowed by magnitudes when compared to its rate before the free flow of information was cut off.

Not trying to be a dick, but if anyone hasn't noticed the mass abundance of WTB/WTS posts in the east commonlands tunnel forum since the removal, then maybe you should go take a looksy. It's like sifting through the bazaar. Stuff is probably bought/sold by the time you read the post, yet alone being online at the sametime. How efficient is that? Obviously if people have to post on here, then they're struggling in game. I've been lowballed on so many items lately, because of the lack of buyers, and been offered inflated prices on trade skill goods. How fun is it to do smithing requests from EC? Have to run all the way to FP just to do an order. Going to guess this change is going to really goof P99 economy.

*shrug* in the end it's just returning a huge percentage of the tedium that was apparently an important part of classic to some. The idea that it somehow makes the game more challenging is ridiculous. Unless you consider trying to stay logged in through massive amounts of boredom "challenging". I don't think it will severely impact that economy in the long term. So what if the value of items goes down, the amount of money people make will continue to decline as well. So in the end it will all even out.
Personally I am more annoyed by the fact that I don't have access to entertaining global chat when I am bored out of my gd mind farming something... OH WELL! |
There's alot more to this game than grinding out levels/gear/plat. That was always the charm of Everquest to me, and really, that was about the only thing missing before this last change. Oh and boats. But they're working on that too.
