For sure. Why not?

I don't think even Hannibal could have predicted his total military mastery of Italy. He basically ruled the countryside for years as an occupying force. They could have established a smithy and gotten the materials in that time.

This upsets me deeply. Atilla the Hun would have found a way, and I personally prefer the sheer grit and unbridled elephantry of my dear Hannibal Barca.

Sadly, much about the Carthaginian perspective was lost (carthago delenda est); so we'll never know if he brought an engineer who died along the way.

Why couldn't he bring along a siege engineer to build that stuff for him over there?

it really make me sad

It could be argued that he did bring siege equipment but either had it damaged, stolen, or left by the wayside while travelling. Didn't he lose an outrageously shit ton amount of soldiers while moving his army around, due to the elements and attacks along the way? Don't think it would be too much of a stretch to imagine that what equipment he brought may have been lost.

Additionally, Hannibal's goal wasn't necessarily to attack Rome as much as it was just to claim roman territory. Maybe he thought that he wouldn't need a buncha siege equipment if he wasn't intending to go after Rome itself? I dunno.

TLDR - them injuns in them hills done stole his catapults

Today I read in this thread Xaanka talking about degeneracy as if they have some kind of soapbox to stand on.

Pokeson has a favorite jpg of his...

Example Russia has nuclear tanks.

They've been working extremely hard on nuclear tanks because UAV and drones are easily disrupted and can't carry big payloads or multiple payloads.

The future of warfare is in nuclear tanks and Russia has literally specialized in nuclear tanks for decades now. Way far ahead on deployment capability and tactical tank warhead production. Get woke.

Ket, it's definitely possible. Hannibal lost a lot of troops crossing from Iberia and fighting local tribes.his ability to assimilate people who hated Rome into his armies was a really important factor for getting reinforcements on the go. But from my research there's no evidence they lost something on the way. Most historians just talk about how silly it was not to bring siege equipment. As one of Hannibals friends said, he knew how to achieve victory but not to use it.

No different than the German Panzer revolutionized the Nazi fighting force the Russian tanks are equally revolutionary and will siege and control any euro zone country with little effort. The warheads cause massive damage to armor and the shock wave kills any surrounding infantry for a quarter mile

"But but but" stutters the incel.

The United States ICBM and destroyers carrying nuclear missiles won't matter treaties and escalation of force agreement are in place to prevent their use from both sides.

Micronized nukes such as Russia's tanks give Russia plausible deniability that nuclear warheads are being used and the US will just have to accept it.

i believe the Punic tactics in the Battle of Cannae are a wonderful example of how you can win an argument by presenting your flimsiest stance first and luring your opponent into an attac
