Pet Healing Threat
 
I'm not sure if this has been brought up yet (couldn't find anything with search at least), but pets being healed seems to be causing threat on this server, which in classic this was never the case. I remember very specifically grouping with my druid in the PoP era farming gems and stuff in PoGrowth (yes as a druid). The reason I was able to do so is because I would group with my magician friends, and ONLY heal their pets because at the time healing a pet would not generate even a single point of threat (hence I would not get faction hits if I only helped them by healing their pets since I was never technically on the mob's hate list).

At one point in 2006 a patch that went through accidentally started having heals start causing threat when being cast on pets which caused an obvious uproar among the magician community and it was eventually changed so it would at least generate 1 point of threat so people would still take faction hits and still at least get put onto npc hate list instead of the bug which caused full heal threat.

I know we had a pass on pets (or still are) recently to bring them into balance by adding more pet charts for the various levels of pets for each summon and reigned in the level ranges so it wouldn't summon higher level pets than was supposed to be allowed. Without this change to heal threat will cause pets to have a harder time being able to hold agro obviously since sometimes having a lower level pet will cause them to generate less threat do to them having a harder time hitting mobs and not hitting as hard do to being lower level. It's going to be very difficult to manage threat if heals are allowed to generate threat on pets.

Since it never generated threat on pets to heal them in classic, this will need to be changed when you devs have time to get to this, but I figured since you're making a pass on pets anyway atm, it might be worth your time to check into this as well and see if you can stop healing from causing threat on pets while you're at it since this is a classic server.

They refer to Rashere, who was supposed to fix it. He joined EQ team in 2003.

They're also taking about Valik the Cruel which came with Prophecy of Ro (February 2006)

I'd also like to take this time to mention that mages didn't have pet heals in classic... or kunark.

Thanks Jify, I forgot about that. When I fix threat for heals, I will fix the spells too.

I may nor may not take out pet healing for mages. I hate taking it out, then only have to put it back in awhile later. It is not fun making changes multiple times. If there weren't so many other things to fix too, it would be another story.
