The Hole was released AFTER Kunark
 

I have discussed this with a few people now in game.

I was always under the impression that, although Paineel was released as an optional download shortly before Kunark was released, The Hole actually didn't go live until shortly AFTER Kunark went live.

I finally found the patch notes to support my claim.

Kunark was released in April while The Hole went live in June.

The Devs are well aware of this, and probably didn't feel it'd make all that big an impact to allow "dark" erudites.

But why is there a guy running around with a Smoldering Brand?

That 2hs and IGS is pretty badass from there.

Oh I know, this isn't about Paineel at all. I was having a debate about The Hole being released after Kunark. Everyone kept insisting to me that it was released before Kunark when Paineel became available for download. I knew that didn't sound right but I couldn't prove it till now.

This post is really just about me being vindicated. :o

Well here's another one for you. Kithicor is plagued with undead at night, yet PoH is not out yet?

Please believe me this was not meant as a complaint of any kind about an inaccuracy on the server. This was specifically about whether you should expect to see The Hole go live on this server before or after Kunark.

I have no beef with the way the devs have handled the currently open zones. To be honest I never even saw the original Kithicor. Scary Kithicor is all I ever knew. Same goes for Splitpaw. Besides, that's all old news.

Because at some point Sky, Hate, and the Hole too were active zones for a very short time, I dont know all the details as I wasnt here yet but I've heard about it.

Sky and Hate were accidentally left open when the server went live and were locked shortly after the devs realized that people were raiding there.

There was only 1 person I know of who managed to enter The Hole just to see if he could. There were three items that dropped for that person while in there. The smoldering brand, loam encrusted pants and one other thing (which I forget) that was supposedly destroyed. This person made it very common knowledge too in the forums as well as in OOC as a way to let the GMs know and to make a point. (But let's please not get into that here.)
