1017 Error

Everytime I try to sign in, I get to the server select screen and then booted back to the login screen. At that point, if I log back in, I get the following error message.
"Error 1017: Cannot login to the EverQuest server. You may need to re-run the Update Patch. Repeatedly seeing this message indicates a loss of connectivity to the Patch Server. This is usually temporary." Seen a few others posting about a similar error, but none of the recommended fixes are fixing anything. I'm clocked at 3.2ghz, so no issue there. Tried patching, reinstalling. Still same error. Any help is appreciated. |

Yeah, hadn't changed anything prior to having the issue. Was playing Wednesday night, couldn't Thursday afternoon. Still no luck. Tried every fix I can find/think of.

I had the same problem a few days ago. My phone was trying to connect to my computer even though I wasn't running my internet connection through my hotspot on my phone. It still gave me this error. I tested it multiple times. Phone connected, it wouldn't work. Disable the bluetooth/unplug the phone and it works fine.
That was what my solution was. Worked perfectly since. |
Having the same issue. Before the Dec 23rd patch, I could connect to Blue/Red but Green would always 1017 me when trying to connect. After the patch, I can connect to green just fine, but now Blue/Red give me 1017. I've also tried a reinstall and most of the other fixes, with no luck.

So I tried installing on my kids computer and am getting the same error. So it doesn't seem to be a PC thing. I'm kinda ignorant to all this stuff. I just want to kill things and heal people.

Fresh install, turned off OC, lowered clock speed. still error 1017

When I am on my home wifi I can connect to P99. While on work wifi, I get the 1017 error. I then ran a hotspot through my phone, connected laptop to phone, and I still get the 1017 error.
I can connect to other eqemu servers. Just not ANY P99 servers.... Help! |
