There were 3 options:

1) Don't stop them dropping
2) Retroactively nerf all
3) Let a few people have the ability to cheat legally forever

They picked No 3 which is the worst option.

I've said it before many times. If someone on the list has their IP change they should be removed from the list.

People would circumvent this with screen sharing programs however. At that point though, if they are logged into EQ they would be multiboxing and subject to the ban hammer.

tl/dr = ip change get removed from list.

Everyone has the ability to use beads-style tactics. Stalking Probes are cheap and even have the additional bonus of instant click; a player merely has to be willing to use some inventory slots to carry them. As such I don't regard Elder Beads as an overly big deal. The majority of folks camping them on Green are likely doing so with visions of huge platinum payoffs dancing in their heads, not so much for personal usage.

I use my beads to pull ogre guards in oggok, op. Feels good man.

This. Think about how many classes are camping them that have no real benefit from them. They're just camping to sell.

This made me have a sensible chuckle :)

Fun story, I traded a Tranix Crown for Holgresh Beads on Blue when they were still dropping and felt like I over paid at the time. Beads are not worth 200k-400k. I have no idea how this community has over valued these so badly.

Just to be real,.. they should only be like 50k
