What is the actual drop rate for manastone? Any official word, evidence? Is it all just made up?

When i was camping jboots i was threatening to hang the dwarf from the meat hooks like his brothers in the other torture chambers.

All I'm seeing is that the drop rate was eventually lowered to about 2-3%, but this is speculative and a topic of much controversy, at least back in 2000.

The drop rates for the legacy items are worse than they should be. The guise is a common drop and yet dirks drop like candy... It's not just RNG being bad, drop rates obviously were tampered with.
