Chardok map design

Hey all,

I've always been annoyed at the quality of maps for some zones.

I wanted to share the Chardok map that I'm editing for P99. It's going to handle both Revamp and Original eras of the dungeon.

Original:

(done by Mapfiend, Beepbeep, Elsbin, Torrid, and Gnix)

I'm enlarging the map, darkening it, and making the mob spawns more legible. Spec:

Any input would be appreciated!

Also, if you have any old maps, I'd love to put them on my website! See signature below...

Looks great. If you do another, could you maybe do Freeport next? ;)

It turns out the EQ Atlas map has the wrong loc info, and so the wiki's new "show locs on the map" feature won't work until someone makes a new map for (all three zones) of Freeport.

Whoops. I had the wrong link for the original...

(Mapfiend, Elsbin, Torrid, Gnix, Beepbeep, Drydon)

ROFL, it actually wouldn't be hard to add on a technical level. If I "cheated" and made you run code to enter it (instead of building a proper UI with a checkbox) I could probably make the whole mechanism in an hour. With UI maybe 2.

BUT ... then there's the CSS/design work of actually creating the dark mode, and making sure every page of the wiki looks good (or at the very least is readable) with it.

So here's my challenge back: if anyone knows CSS (or wants to teach themselves) and wants to create a dark mode wiki stylesheet (ie. CSS file) ... AND TEST IT HEAVILY ... I'll build the Javascript code to add a checkbox somewhere on the wiki that you can check to "enter dark mode" (ie. have that stylesheet added to the page when you're visiting the wiki).

I actually teach a college course on the topic (well, and other aspects of web dev). Suffice it to say there's a bit more than one YouTube video can cover.

If you want a book though I can recommend: http://www.htmlandcssbook.com/. It's actually a little dated, but 98% of the stuff hasn't changed, and the guy just does an amazingly better job of explaining the concepts than any other book on the subject ... which is why I still use it as my class textbook even though it's a little out of date.

Hey on the upper / main level map of chardok, there is a "water" location in the middle.
I attached image of what I am speaking of.

Is that yellow water dangerous or can you swim in it?

And looking at the map, if you were to jump into it, there is a water access tunnel that goes down to the lower level?
