Install Error -6001 Windows 10 with CDs

Well lets try this again. Using Titanium CDs. Windows 10. Can't pass install. Install shield starts, jumps to SETUP HAS EXPERIENCED AN ERROR .. BLAH BLAH, then run setup again. Had received this error before I shelled out ducks for CDs. Yet same thing. Certainly would love and appreciate any help.

Did you find a solution to this problem and if so could you post it?

Hello, .. Yes i finally did find this fix. And shame on me for not posting. But I jumped right into playing and neglected to.. but .. Below is the fix. I was very skeptical as I had already tried 5 or 6 work arounds. But this worked!!! Again it was error 6001. I am on Windows 10 64bit.

This is due to InstallShield not being able to replace an older copy of Installshield with the files provided in the GRAW Setup.

The workaround for this is to delete the folder these files are in and allow the GRAW installer to replace the necessary files.

Delete the folder "0701" in the following directory :

"C:\Program Files\Common Files\Installshield\Professional\Runtime\"

Once deleted, you should be able to install the game normally.
This will NOT effect any other applications or programs on your system.

it allowed install. Then got the "Can not run a debugger" error. I have AVG. I shut that off and wah lah.

Something else must be going on my system: Windows 10 64bit Pro.

I checked for "Installshield" inside folder: "C:\Program Files\Common Files\".

The "Installshield" folder did not exist at all.

I added it and the sub folders:
"C:\Program Files\Common Files\Installshield\Professional\Runtime"

but that didn't seem to fix it either.

I use Avast and tried disabling FileShield as well to see if that would help.

Thanks for the reply.

Just a quick note.

I tried this on 2 other Windows 10 64bit Pro systems and the same thing happened.

The Images I used are the same I used a few years ago that I know worked at one time.

Not sure what window update caused this to happen or what else to try to fix the issue.
